Fiddler's Creek Management, inc. is Hiring a Golf Equipment Manager Near Naples, FL

BASIC SUMMARY:

Oversee a comprehensive preventive maintenance program including the repair of failing equipment, keeping records of parts and labor needed to maintain each piece of equipment, and placing orders for parts and supplies needed for equipment or service. Communicate any needs or problems relating to the maintenance or repair of equipment to the Golf Course Superintendent, schedules and direct the work assignments. Maintain a clean service area and maintenance building.


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical defects/failures in various golf course maintenance equipment, including, diesel-, electric-and gasoline-powered automobiles, trucks, trenchers, sweepers, rollers, mowers, and other mechanical equipment used in utility work.

  • Instruct and/or train golf course maintenance team members regarding preventive maintenance, and the proper cleaning of and safe operation of equipment.
  • Prioritize equipment repair and maintenance work.
  • Maintain a preventive maintenance program within budget on all equipment, and purchases repair parts and replacement supplies.
  • Keep a complete set of records for equipment and parts inventory purchases, equipment conditions, costs of repairs and preventive maintenance for all equipment.
  • Spot check equipment for performance on the course, make emergency repairs to equipment on the course, and service or supervise servicing of equipment prior to use.
  • Oversee the shop area maintenance.
  • Regulate team members' use of equipment in absence of superintendent, if needed.
    Recommend equipment purchases and leases.


EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE/OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Some form of secondary education in fabrication or engine repair a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years related experience.
  • Previous experience with maintaining a full fleet of golf course equipment while managing parts and inventory for that fleet.
  • Working knowledge of light and heavy maintenance equipment and automotive apparatuses.
  • Skill in the use of a variety of equipment repair tools, and the making of various types of mechanical repair.
  • Working knowledge of the theory, care, and operation of internal combustion engines and mowing equipment.
  • Working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the profession.
  • Proficient in diagnosing mechanical troubles and determine appropriate maintenance work.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and keep business records.
  • Knowledge of and/or ability to play the game of golf and understand how job performance affects the playing conditions of the golf course.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  • Required, valid driver's license.
  • Committed to working rotating shifts, weekends and holidays.
  • Schedule vacations during the off-season months.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ ABILITY TO:

  • Grasp, lift, carry or transport up to 50 lbs.
  • Push/pull wheeled carts weighing up to 100 lbs.
  • Reach with hands and arms, bend stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Stand and walk for length of scheduled shift.
  • Perform duties of the job while exposed to sun and hot weather conditions for prolonged periods.
  • Determine accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned through visual acuity.
  • Express and exchange ideas by means of the spoken word accurately, loudly and quickly.
  • Perceive the nature of sounds at a normal speaking level and make fine discriminations in sound.
  • Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; and vibration.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
