Job Description:

The Maintenance technician position performs maintenance duties necessary to maintain operating and service equipment through the use of standard and specialized tools and mobile equipment such as overhead cranes and forklifts as needed. The Maintenance Technician will install, maintain, repair, and operate a broad range of mechanical systems and equipment in an industrial environment to maintain continuous operations. Overall maintaining equipment, buildings, and facilities.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Minimize equipment downtime and ensure achievement of daily and weekly production goals by diagnosing, trouble shooting and repairing production equipment, including hydraulic and mechanical shears, roller levelers, conveyor systems, forklifts, overhead cranes, and other auxiliary equipment such as banding tools, nail guns, scales, etc.
  • Performs and documents preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Weld using MIG or STICK is a plus. Will train if needed.
  • Cut materials using saws, propane torch, shear, or plasma.
  • Grind welds or material edges using 7” grinder.
  • May be required to work at heights and/or in confined space.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment correctly
  • Technical expertise
  • Hydraulic repair experience
  • Ability to read blueprints (willing to train)
  • Understands imperial measurement standards
  • Troubleshooting equipment issues
  • Problem solving and analytical skills
  • Interpersonal skills

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year manufacturing and/or industrial experience or equivalent education. This includes experience in any of the following: hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication, power transmission systems and structural repair.
  • Must be proficient using power tools, drills, cutting tools, etc…
  • Must adhere to all safety procedures/guidelines at all times. Safety is our core value which requires you to wear safety protection such as hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective clothing, and steel toe boots with metatarsal protection.
  • The position requires overtime work as needed.
  • The position requires you to be on call.
  • The position requires punctuality, consistent attendance and self-direction.
