Who We are:

Founded in 1972, Allegheny Steel Distributors Inc., based 10 miles northeast of Pittsburgh, PA, is a cutting edge metals processor specializing in steel sheet and coil. We process prime, excess prime, and non-prime hot-rolled, HR pickled and oiled, cold-rolled, galvanized, and floor plate material for timely delivery of cut lengths, precision edge trim blanks, sheared to size blanks, and slit coils.

Allegheny Steel is a subsidiary of Reliance Steel and Aluminum Company and a sister company of Feralloy.

Founded in 1954, Feralloy Corporation has grown to become one of the country’s largest high-volume steel processing companies delivering quality tempered, stretched, and slit products. From our Chicago headquarters, we operate a network of 11 steel processing centers throughout the U.S. and Mexico that provide value-added processing of hot rolled, pickled, cold rolled and coated sheet products to manufacturers and producers.

Required Knowledge & Skills:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 2-5 years industrial experience desirable.

Ability to read, interpret and understand written documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, signage, work instructions, shipping documents, packaging tags.

Must possess adequate writing skills required to complete production paperwork, inspection reports, etc. as required. Must be able to effectively communicate, verbally or otherwise, to respond to real time situations where immediate communication is required.

Ability to count, add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers; must have a working knowledge of common fractions and decimals. Must be able to accurately read and interpret a standard tape measure.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

Physical demands require frequent standing, lifting, and bending.
