Position Summary

Federal Data Systems is looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer who will leverage Cloud environment and service-oriented architecture principles to define and own Solution Architecture (applications and data technologies), work with clients to design a full-stack solution using software that fully integrates with customer’s existing cloud infrastructure from data flow, security DevOps and other standpoints, and propose suggestions and best practices to optimize customers’ cloud presence, performance, security, and cost.

Essential Job Functions

• Carry our debugging, troubleshooting, modifications, and unit testing of customer solutions built on the organization/client’s platform.
• Develop new specs, documentation and partake in the development of technical procedures and user support guides.
• Responsible for the creation of a well-informed cloud strategy and administer the adaption process.
• Develop and organize cloud systems and work closely with IT security to monitor the organization cloud privacy.
• Provide prompt response to technical issues in a professional manner.
• Direct infrastructure movement procedure, including build application transfers into the cloud environment.

Minimum Required Qualifications

• Due to the nature of this position and the information that employees will be required to access; U.S. Citizenship is required.
• A high school diploma or GED plus 10 years of data engineering experience would also acceptable OR a Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of cloud engineering experience OR a Master’s degree or PhD may be substituted for two years of experience.

• Required Security Clearance: Position requires TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.

Desired/Preferred Skills:

• Independent way of working as well as creativity, the ability to work in a team in a confident manner.

Working Conditions:

Work is typically based in a busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Business work hours are normally set from Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm, however some extended or weekend hours may be required. Additional details on the precise hours will be informed to the candidate from the Program Manager/Hiring Manager.

Physical Requirements:

May be required to lift and carry items weighting up to 25 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching and bending throughout the workday.

Background Screening/Check/Investigation:

Successful Completion of a Background Screening/Check/Investigation will be required as a condition of hire.
