What You’ll Do: As an Actuarial Analyst on our P/C Pricing team, you will be responsible for assisting with the review of property rating plans and developing recommendations for changes. You will be involved with ensuring compliance of rating structures and rates with insurance regulations. You will also assist with analyses and recommendations for new pricing initiatives.
The P/C Actuarial Department is responsible for assisting the company in providing sound insurance products that will best serve Farm Bureau client/members. This is accomplished by providing senior management with superior analysis of “decision making” data affecting product costs.
What It Takes to Join Our Team:
·College Degree in math, statistics, actuarial science, or other major with 1 actuarial exams passed.
·Must be currently taking actuarial exams and making positive progress (1 additional exam passed) within 2 years.
·Strong technology knowledge and skills to effectively use in solving actuarial and business-related problems – including SQL and/or other programming languages.
·Must be knowledgeable and have substantial working experience with Excel, Word, Access and other applicable tools and be able to apply to actuarial related problems.
·Knowledge of the Property/Casualty insurance industry and the ability to apply actuarial skills to address broad-based insurance problems.
·Be team focused and able to work in a collaborative work environment.
·A self-starter who is detail-oriented and able to prioritize multiple tasks.
·Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
·Proven ability to do in-depth analysis, problem solve, and use organizational skills to address complex issues.
·Ability to work from our office in West Des Moines, Iowa.
