Our BLS and ALS services impact not only the lives of our patients, but their families and communities.

Position Summary:

The Leave Coordinator serves as the subject matter expert on leaves of absence and workers’ compensation policies and programs at Falck. This coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for employees, vendors and business partners in connection with the administration and execution of these policies and programs and to ensure compliance with regulatory and legal requirements.

Essential Functions:

The Leave Coordinator may be assigned one or more duties. These duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Work autonomously, prioritize tasks that require attention to detail and outstanding follow-up skills
  • Communicate with employees regarding the status of their requests for leave and workers' compensation benefits, next steps, and employee responsibilities
  • Conduct and lead the interactive process in partnership with employees, leaders, and HRBPs in connection with leave and disability-related matters
  • Partner and communicate with Falck risk department and legal counsel regarding workers' compensation policies/practices and individual claims
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Maintains accurate recordkeeping in HRIS and other applicable databases and provides timely written communication to employees and collaborating departments within Falck
  • Create and conduct leave administration and workers' compensation training programs and coach leaders in accordance with training/policies/processes.
  • Takes ownership of own work and behavior, accepts accountability for own actions, encourages solutions, and communicates status of work/projects
  • Performs effectively as a team member, able to work well with others, open to receive and give feedback, and treats everyone with respect
  • Attend and participate in continuing education classes, on the job training programs, etc. as scheduled or as directed.

Additional Duties:

The Leave Coordinator may be assigned one or more additional duties. These duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Remain informed of relevant regulatory and legal updating impacting workers’ compensation and leave policies and practices
  • Able to understand and demonstrate Falck culture
  • Perform other job related duties as assigned by the Head of People & Culture.

Qualifications:

The individual in this position must possess the following qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years of experience in dealing with workers' compensation and leave of absence management
  • Knowledge of federal, California state and other state leave regulations
  • Excellent analytical skills and quality orientation-strives for continuous improvement in all activities to consistently achieve excellent results and meet or exceed department expectations
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to work effectively with a diverse range of individuals, teams, managers, supervisors, and external customers; excellent ability to communicate and work cohesively across department lines
  • Must have computer competency including proficiency with Microsoft Suite, and understanding of database programs
  • Typing 40 wpm (minimum)
  • Must have the ability to consistently deliver outstanding customer service to all internal and external customers
  • Highly dependable and ability to meet internal deadlines consistently
  • Strong organization skills and attentiveness to detail
  • Flexible and adaptable, willing and able to adjust to rapidly changing priorities
  • Must have the ability to work independently as well as in groups
  • Innovative and resourceful, embraces innovation and change as healthy and a source of opportunity; generates new ideas and approaches to solve problems and creates business opportunities while maximizing existing resources
  • Ability to maintain a professional manner and appearance at all times.

Education Requirements:

The individual in this position must possess the following education requirements:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a relevant area of expertise preferred.
