This role is full-time, shift : Monday-Friday 2:30pm-11:00pm

Description:

• Greets patients, obtains referrals, and indicates their arrival on RIS or to appropriate personnel as necessary.
• Registers patient through RIS ensuring all necessary documents are completed and scanned.
• Assures pre-authorization for exam is documented in system and communicates to appropriate department if there are discrepancies.
• Obtains waivers and other required documentation pertaining to patient registration as needed.
• Obtains required payments for services.
• Maintains a constant awareness of patients’ arrival and waiting time. Keeps patients informed of delays and informs Radiology Center Manager of patient complaints or problems.
• Prints schedules.
• Assists with file room duties such as burning DVDs, loading DVDs and releasing records.
• Schedules patients as necessary.
• Reference point for other Patient Coordinators with questions and problems
• Triage all patient or referring physician inquiries outside the normal realm and handle as appropriate or refer to the appropriate party.

Required

• Minimum high school diploma
• 1 or more years of administrative experience in the healthcare industry preferred
• Must be able to access, input and retrieve information from the computer and central file system on a constant basis throughout the day
• Must be able to handle up to 50 pounds to assist patients
• Must be able to move throughout the office and access and handle items at, above and below desk level throughout the day
• Must be able to walk, stand and sit throughout the day for extended periods of time
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing
• Fluent in Spanish preferred
