Overview
We are currently seeking a skilled 2nd Shift CNC Machinist to join our team at our facility located in Alsip, IL, 60803. As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining CNC Mill and Lathe machines to produce high-quality precision parts.
This is a second shift position, offering competitive pay and benefits.
Responsibilities
- Operate and set up CNC Mill (3-4 axis VMC) and CNC Lathe (2-4 axis) machines
- Perform machine setups for production runs
- Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
- Use GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) to ensure accurate dimensions and tolerances
- Program machines using G-Code and M-Code
- Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments
- Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal functionality
- Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards
- Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes
Qualifications
- Prior experience operating CNC Mill (5 axis VMC) and CNC Lathe (5 axis) machines
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and engineering drawings
- Strong knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
- Ability to program machines using G-Code and M-Code
- Experience with machine setups for production runs
- Familiarity with machine brands such as Dmg Mori Seiki, Hurco, and Mazak
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain high-quality standards
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Availability to work on the second shift
