JOB DESCRIPTION Job Description

The Manufacturing Cell Operator is an experienced machine operator who is disciplined, creative and an excellent problem solver who will thrive in our lean manufacturing environment.

He / she is a reliable individual who is able to read blueprints and hold tight tolerances with a strong mechanical aptitude.

Ø Follow Standard Work Set up, running parts and preventative maintenance (PM).

Ø Inspect, deburr, and perform manual operations and / or operate other equipment internal to the machine cycle. This includes the selection and presetting of tools which will be required for the next scheduled job.

Ø Update and maintain all visual controls

Ø Initiates and understands root cause analysis (5Y), in the moment, by clearly stating what had occurred.

Ø Create and / or support countermeasures

Ø Operate in and create a clean and safe environment

Ø Participate and engage in SMED, Kaizen events, and 5 Whys’ problem solving exercises

Ø Identify equipment abnormalities and support PM

Ø Follow company safety procedures and standards to insure individual and collective safety, in addition to avoiding unnecessary risk to oneself, co-workers, contractors, customers, and property.

Be a stand for safety having the courage to call forth and report unsafe practices.

Ø All other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands :

Ø Ability to lift a maximum of 50 lbs.

Ø Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time

Ø Works within a manufacturing environment, with exposure to noise, heat, cold, fumes, and chemicals

Work Experience

Qualifications Experience / Education / Skill Requirements :

Ø Must have 2 years machining experience or education equivalent in related field.

Ø Ability to Set-Up and Operate CNC machining work centers.

Ø Experience in making tool changes and making in process offset changes

Ø High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Ø Capable of reading and following standard work

Ø Must be capable of using metrology equipment effectively.

Ø Experienced in blueprint reading.

Ø Good GD & T understanding

Ø Working knowledge of CNC (mills / lathes)

Ø Knowledge of CNC controls i. e. Fanuc, Siemens, Okuma OSP.

Ø Tooling Familiarity

Ø Basic math and PC skills

Ø Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ø Must possess critical thinking / problem solving capabilities

Ø Ability to work with minimum supervision, and work well with others

Ø Excellent past work record (performance, attendance and attitude)

Ø Trade school certification in related field preferred

Ø Any related professional education or training a plus

Ø Ability to speak and read English
