Job Summary:

The Human Resources Assistant works under the direction of the HR Manager. The HR Assistant provides both generalized and specific staff assistance in a wide range and combination of activities for the HR Department. This position will provide administrative support to include report creation, file records maintenance, and general office support. This is classified as a non-exempt position under FLSA standards.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Runs HR window and phone, directs to appropriate staff member
  • Maintains confidential department files to include personnel files, worker’s compensation files, unemployment, compensation, et.
  • Makes photocopies; mails, scans and e-mails documents; and performs other clerical functions
  • Schedules meetings as needed
  • Collects and turns in new requisitions, internal transfer requests, payroll change forms, etc. to appropriate staff member.
  • Hands out various forms to employees (ie. Tax forms, direct deposit forms)
  • Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with professionalism
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Ability to maintain confidential information

Education or Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Prior related office experience required
  • Human Resources Experience a plus

Physical Requirements:

  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish
  • Must be able to work in a fast pace environment
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds
