THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced Senior Automation Engineer to join the team and participate in the implementation of the Expereo Intelligent Internet Platform. As Expereo is reaching a tipping point in its growth, the focus moves towards driving automation and scalability while enabling innovation and value creation at a higher rate.

The Senior Automation Engineer will be part of our Platform Team and will be working closely with Product Owners, Architects and Technology/R&D Engineers. This role is crucial in bridging the gap between our customer-facing services and processes on the one hand and our and our partner’s network infrastructure on the other. All of this with the sole aim of ensuring seamless service fulfillment and assurance and to enhance customer experience.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES

Here is what your day-to-day responsibilities will look like but are not limited to:

• Prototyping and implementing new automation technologies, applications and solutions;
• Translating operational processes into automation scenarios;
• Coordinating the delivery of selected prototypes into actual production applications;
• Supporting business for continuous technology improvement;
• Following best practices and standards agreed on with architects;
• Maintaining and supporting core applications within the Platform Team’s domain;
• Analyzing and defining improvement areas in the systems.

THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Expertise and hands-on experience with some of the below automation-related technologies:
  • REST & GraphQL APIs, micro-service frameworks, YAML, JSON
  • Python, C#, Node.js
  • StackStorm
  • Git, cloud hosting platform(s) and CI/CD tools
  • Relational and non-relational databases (e.g. RedShift, Influxdb)
  • ChatOps
  • Ansible, Terraform and at least intermediate AWS Cloud knowledge
• Experience in modern networking technologies and protocols is a must: Cloud connectivity frameworks, SDN, SD-WAN, MPLS, IPSec, TCP/IP and L2 technologies, among which IPv6, BGP, VLAN, GRE, VXLAN, GENEVE
• Excitement about the DevOps culture and the Agile mindset
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, customers, business partners, and consultants
• Strong customer service focus, deep understanding of Customer Support Operations and Service operations performance metrics
• Self‐motivated, autonomous and takes personal accountability
• Analytical and critical thinking skills
• Project management skills
• Positive leadership style and ability to motivate team members
• Enjoys sharing knowledge with junior team members.
• Able to work independently and as a team, with good initiative to learn and deliver.

Good to have:

• Experience with machine learning techniques, technology stack to process near real-time data
• Understanding of NOC operations, experience in operational process improvement using automated solutions
