Description
SUMMARY
Behavioral Health Technician-Applied Behavior Analysis (BHT-ABA), is responsible for completing the required training in accordance with IBHS Regulation and the Behavior Analyst Certification Board to demonstrate competent service delivery under the direct supervision of the clinical director and Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), and become eligible for RBT certification. After completing their training and demonstrating competent service delivery, the BHT-ABA will assist the BCBA with implementing behavior plans and Individualized Treatment Plans, namely assisting clients with day-to-day activities, monitoring behavior, recording and collecting data and communicating with the BCBA and assigned families.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/MAJOR TASKS
  1. Complete the 40-hour RBT course work in its entirety.
  2. Complete all IBHS required training in their entirety.
  3. Complete the RBT Initial Competency Assessment in its entirety.
  4. Submit necessary documentation to the Behavior Analyst Certification Board to apply for RBT credentialing.
  5. Work cooperatively with families, caregivers, and team members to provide children with the best possible care and treatment.
  6. Provide Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) therapy in the home, clinic and community settings.
  7. Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the BCBA.
  8. Support the BCBA with training families on implementing the individualized treatment plans.
  9. Collect data about individual's behaviors through direct observation and monitor progress and effectiveness of the individualized treatment plan.
  10. Provide regular written and verbal progress updates on treatment plans.
  11. Assist the BCBA as directed with behavior reduction assessments and skill acquisition plans.
  12. Teach individuals the specific behavior skills in a treatment plan.
  13. Communicate behavioral intervention results to individual's parents and caregivers.
  14. Attend team meetings as needed and training workshops.
  15. Ensure the individual is in a safe and positive environment at all times.
  16. Understands and adheres to established policies and procedures
  17. Maintains ongoing confidential records of client files.
  18. Maintains acceptable attendance status, per agency policy
  19. Maintains professional documentation within established timeline and demonstrate effective time management skills.
  20. Follow policies and procedures of Intensive Behavioral Health Services (IBHS) and Excentia Human Services.
  21. Other job functions as assigned.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
  1. Provide ongoing assessments for each child/family.
  2. Consult with the client's team as needed.
  3. Meet with the BCBA regularly for supervision.
  4. Report safety concerns to mandated reporting agencies.
  5. Maintain confidentiality as per HIPAA and procedural safeguards.
  6. Other duties as assigned

WORKING CONDITIONS
  1. Primarily in clinic, community and homes with unknown environmental challenge.
  2. This is not a work from home position.
  3. Office time with exposure to toners and ink cartridges.
  4. Seasonal displays may include hay, leaves, flowers, pine needles, etc.
  5. Noise level can be high at times.
  6. Potential exposure to communicable childhood diseases and/or other communicable diseases.
  7. Client may carry fluid or blood-borne pathogens.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS / PREREQUISITES
  1. COMMUNICATION
a. Ability to effectively communicate with individuals served, supervisors, and co-workers, clients and parents of clients using strong and understandable language skills in reading, written work and comprehension.
  1. SKILLS (Possess the following) :
  1. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and professional documents.
  2. Ability to respond to common inquiries from parents, case workers, or members of the mental health provider community.
  3. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or board of directors.
  4. Ability to use standard office computer software
  5. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
  6. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  7. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  8. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  9. The employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
  10. The employee is frequently required to stand; work; sit; use hands to finger; handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  11. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  12. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  13. Must have passion working with children with disabilities and their families.

  1. EMPLOYMENT EXPERIENCE
Experience working with children with behavior concerns and developmental disabilities preferred.
  1. EDUCATION
High school diploma required. Bachelor's degree in special education, psychology or related field preferred.
  1. OTHER
Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Child Protective Service Act (Act 33) compliance and FBI clearance, NSOR, Valid Pennsylvania Driver's license/ acceptable driving record.
