JOB DESCRIPTION

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is a unique addition to our sales team. As a Sales Development Associate, you will be responsible for engaging leads that haven’t yet raised their hand - primarily through email, calls, and SMS/text messaging. This role aligns with our mission to provide support and comfort during the toughest stages of grief or busiest times in our customers' lives.

On a daily basis, the Sales Development Associate will be responsible for initiating and maintaining conversations with potential customers who have shown interest in our products or services, understanding their needs and preferences, providing personalized information and support, and guiding them through the sales process. By focusing on inbound inquiries, the SMS Sales Associate ensures that those reaching out to us receive timely, empathetic, and efficient responses.

Coordinating with other team members when necessary, managing inquiries with care, tracking and reporting on interactions, and contributing to the refinement of our engagement & communication strategies are also integral parts of this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Report to our VP of Sales & Partnerships

  • Play a part in communication strategy & creation

  • Recognizing trends and sharing feedback cross functionally

  • Logging all communications in Salesforce & keep pipeline up-to-date

  • Be willing and able to communicate via phone or video if requested at some point in the sales process

  • Become knowledgeable about the process as well as the history of the company

  • Create Raving Fans of every customer you talk to

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential. The person will need to interact with a wide range of individuals, from prospective customers to current clients, and effectively convey the uniqueness of the diamond growth process.

  • Sales Experience: Experience in sales, particularly in a consultative role, is crucial. This role will involve nurturing prospects until they’re ready to move forward, so understanding sales techniques and customer service principles is necessary.

  • Empathy & Compassion: Given the nature of your business, a high degree of empathy and compassion is needed. Your customers are dealing with loss, so the ability to approach conversations with sensitivity is critical.

  • Knowledge about the Product and Process: Although some of this will be taught on the job, an interest in, or knowledge about, diamonds and the diamond growth process would be beneficial.

  • Flexibility: This role involves a mix of sales support and sales enablement, so the ability to switch between tasks and manage time effectively is crucial.

  • Tech-Savvy: Familiarity with Salesforce (or another CRM) and multiple communication systems would be advantageous, to manage customer communications effectively.

  • Detail-Oriented: The ability to manage, track, and follow-up with leads diligently is important for this role, and will contribute to the overall customer experience.

  • Passion for the Mission: A strong alignment with Eterneva's mission and values, and a genuine desire to help people memorialize their loved ones, will help in building a strong connection with customers.
