Job Summary: To provide training and technical assistance in Board Policy, Texas Education Code, and Texas Administrative Code including current and updated changes to ESC 7 school districts and charter schools. To support assigned school districts, charter schools, administrators, and board members in professional development opportunities. To provide assistance to ESC 7 school districts, charter schools, and school personnel in complying with Texas Education Code, Texas Administrative Code, Federal laws, regulations and guidance for supporting programs and services.

Qualifications:

Minimum Education/Training:

Post Graduate Degree; major coursework in administration or related field is generally preferred.

Required: Master’s Degree and Mid-Management Certification

Required: Superintendent Certification and/or Doctoral Degree

Experience:

10 years of educational experience in a professional capacity
Prefer central office or campus-level administrative experience.

Required: Minimum of three years of experience as a Superintendent or other Central Office Leadership position related to TEC and Policy ComplianceRequired: Teacher and Campus-level Administrative experience.

Primary Essential Functions

  1. Plan and organize Texas Education Code and Board Policy trainings for all school districts and charter schools.
  2. Participate as a communication link between the school district and services available from the ESC.
  3. Communicate perceived and documented LEA needs to the ESC and TEA.
  4. Operate within a self-directed team.
  5. Assist in the planning and organization of networking opportunities for administrators.
  6. Plan and deliver services to schools in support of improvement and compliance with accountability intervention requirements.
  7. Assist in the development and delivery of school board training to school districts and charters as directed.
  8. Assist in planning and organizing Superintendent Meetings and Academies.
  9. Act as a charter school liaison for the ESC.
  10. Assist in the review and planning of operational budgets with the Chief Administrative Officer.
  11. Assist in providing training (workshop data source selection on the Validation tab) and technical assistance (objective in time accounting) in complying with Texas Education Code, Texas Administrative Code, and state & federal laws, regulations, and guidance.
  12. Communicate school district and charter school needs to the ESC and TEA.
  13. Maintain a professional image; cooperatively work with colleagues; demonstrate self-motivation, enthusiasm, and ability to adjust to changing situations.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Daily monitoring of Administrative and Department procedures to ensure they reflect actual practice and assist employees in making needed changes.

Because your assignment is funded by grants, federal funding, and/or special funding, your continued employment is expressly conditioned on the availability of funding for the position. If funding becomes unavailable due to loss of state/federal funding or due to financial constraints of Region 7 ESC, your position is subject to immediate termination.
