Equity is a full service commercial real estate firm. Our comprehensive platform includes development, construction, brokerage and property management services that are tailored to provide solutions to each client’s needs. As Estimator, you review plans and scope of work documents. Solicit subcontractor pricing, review and analyze information, and prepare cost estimates. You will be responsible to create and maintain relationships with vendors and subcontractors to obtain accurate information on prices and availability.
What are the Key Objectives:
Analyze Requests for Proposals (RFPs), plans, amendments and other documentation to determine the scope for work
Review all documentation for accuracy and ensuring timely and competitive bidding
Execute Take Offs of construction documents
Solicit pricing from subcontractors and vendors
Consult with clients and vendors, to resolve issues and discuss estimates
Assess cost effectiveness of products or services and track actual costs relative to bids
Assist in preparing and maintaining a historical cost database as well as a directory of reliable suppliers and subcontractors
Participate in Bid Day activities, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of the proposal submittal
Maintain and demonstrate an understanding of construction trades and building systems, documentation processes, relevant industry knowledge, and industry estimating tools
Who Do You Work With and Who Guides Your Career:
The position works with vendors, subcontractors, clients and reports to the Director of Estimating.
What You Offer:
A Bachelors in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture or related field.
2 years prior experience in construction estimating.
Maintain and demonstrate an understanding of construction trades and building systems, documentation processes, industry knowledge, industry estimating tools, and undertake the appropriate measures to ensure continued personal training.
Develop lasting relationships with subcontractors and vendors.
Independent and self-motivated with the ability to be analytical while multi-tasking and remaining detail oriented.
