Job Title : Electrical Estimator

Employment Type : Full time / Direct Hire

Job Description

As an Electrical Estimator you will be expected to prepare work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
-Attend Pre-bid, Scope Review and other meetings wherever located with the clients as required.
-Bid projects with enough detail to provide accurate proposals.
-Establish a project approach plan for each estimate.
-Must be fully versed in the reading, review and understanding of specifications as they apply to specific jobs and be able to process the information contained therein in the preparation of estimates.
-Must be able to understand and make appropriate interpretations of all drawings and documents.
-Must understand fully the use of drawing symbols as they relate to various systems, i.e. fire alarm, lighting, lighting controls, motor controls, switches, receptacles, etc.
-Must be experienced with drawing scales and the use of scale takeoff devices.
-Must be able to move easily within the system and be experienced in the building of assemblies.
-Aids significantly in the training of others.
-Work closely with general contractors, architects, engineers and customers as required.
-Must be/become familiar with local vendors and be able to communicate sufficient information (specifications, quantities, sketches) to the vendor to ensure the receipt of accurate and competitive pricing. -Maintains that communication throughout the bid preparation process and forwards any addenda to the vendor.
-Labor factor analysis and modification as it pertains to the estimating software.

Education and ExperiencesStarting hourly rate based off education and experience.
-Minimum 2 to 4 years' experience as Electrical Estimator, primarily commercial applications OR 5 years of experience as an Electrical Foreman.
-Familiarity with up-to-date electrical estimating software.
-Must be able to recognize/identify potential discrepancies and errors in documents and develop questions for timely response.
-Ability to develop estimates based in various stages of design.
-Expert knowledge/understanding of all electrical work and materials used.
-Capability to set up and complete an accurate takeoff and enter quantities in a neat, professional manner.
-Take off all systems involved in the preparation of an estimate (motor controls, instrumentation, lighting, lighting control, fire alarm, A/V, modular wiring, grounding, motor and equipment connections, generators, power distribution equipment, feeders, etc.).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
