Enerflex is Hiring a SOX Compliance Manager Near Houston, TX

Summary

The SOX Compliance Manager will be responsible for driving Internal Controls over Financial Reporting processes for the Enerflex USA Region, coordinating SOX compliance activities, which includes understanding the overall financial environment, coordinating documentation, scoping and testing of processes & controls, providing guidance with respect to the adequacy and completeness of controls & processes, advice in the remediation of any deficiencies, collaborate with management in the design of key controls, and providing controls guidance for process & system changes. This role will collaborate closely with the USA Regional Team, Internal Audit, Corporate Finance, External Audit, and external service providers.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties

Serve as the primary Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 liaison, specifically with respect to the control environment, for the USA Region.
  • Collaboration with USA Region product line and department personnel to ensure that Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404, objectives, deliverables, and timelines are met.
  • Perform sample selection & testing in a collaborative manner with the USA Region across all internal controls including planning, scoping, documentation, testing, and analysis.
  • Work with process owners to develop, maintain, and review the Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 documentation.
  • Advice in the documentation of internal control processes.
  • Coordinate tracking of internal/external testing of controls and track the status of gaps and remediation actions.
  • Advise in the remediation of deficiencies in internal controls.
  • Assist in the coordination process to obtain management assessments of internal controls, including the identification of weaknesses and opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare presentations and provide status updates as needed for use by management.
  • Provide and organizing training on internal controls.
  • Assist with coordination of the quarterly and annual Sarbanes-Oxley certification processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure controls are effective and align with organizational objectives.
  • Create and maintain risk and control matrices for various business processes.
  • Regularly review and update matrices to reflect changes in processes or control environments.
  • Stay informed about regulatory changes and ensure that controls, processes, and financial reporting remain compliant.
  • Continuously work to enhance the SOX program to become more efficient and effective.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
  • Professional accounting designation such as CPA, CISA, or CIA required.
  • Minimum eight years of relevant work experience in financial reporting or auditing required.
  • Proven SOX 404 compliance requirements is mandatory.
  • Big 4 or similar public accounting experience is a plus.
  • Experience conducting operational and regulatory audits.
  • Communication skills are fundamental (both written and verbal) as the role will have significant interaction with senior management and business unit leaders.
  • MRP environment with SAP experience preferred.
  • Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong motivation, work ethic, organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced, multi-task environment.
  • A high degree of computer literacy in MS Office (Excel, PPT, Outlook, Word, Access). More specifically advanced Excel (pivot tables, dashboards, charts, and graphs) is a must.
  • Demonstrates support, commitment & participation in department goals and regional goals.
  • Work well in a team environment & a team player.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail are critical in this role.
  • Operational experience and sound business acumen.

Fast-paced general office environment. Many tasks have high degrees of time sensitivity.
