The Regional Dietary Manager is responsible for overseeing the individual Dietary Managers in terms of food service operations, including the following:
Duties:
- Consult with Dietary Managers to ensure that each has a complete understanding of the organization, implementation and operation of Dietary Departments in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Schedule visits for Dietary Managers, as needed, to Sr. Director's Dietary Department to observe successful systems in place and to be used as a foundation for implementation in their own Dietary Departments.
- S. Director will travel to other Dietary Departments, as needed, to monitor organizations and efficiency of operation and to address on site any issues including, but not limited to, food, equipment, personnel and physical facility needs.
- Ensure that Dietary Managers are trained in calculating budgets and instructed in methods to stay within those budgets, while meeting menu requirements and providing excellent quality meals.
- On an as-needed basis, approve food orders before they are submitted to vendor.
- Oversee and conduct safety, sanitation, and equipment preventative maintenance programs in line with policies and procedures. - Foster strong inter-departmental relations and integrate the Dining Services Department with the facility plan of operation, including participation of mock surveys and annual surveys, where appropriate. - Promote the professional growth and development of the entire team of Dietary Managers, including: hiring of new dietary managers in conjunction with facility administrators, reviewing job performance evaluations, performance improvement plans and coaching and counseling.
- Review facility Nutritional Services Plans and ongoing Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement related to Nutritional Services.
Experience:
-Servsafe Certified
-5 years dietary management experience
-CDM preferred
-1 to 2 years of multi-site dietary management experience in KY
- Previous experience in a similar role preferred
- Knowledge of nutrition principles and dietary guidelines
- Familiarity with tube feeding procedures and equipment
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks accordingly
