Maintenance Technician - Part time / Flexible days of the week and hours available
Hospital Maintenance is seeking a skilled candidate to join our hospital services team. This position provides preventative maintenance and minor installations and repairs on hospital equipment, repair requests and other duties as assigned. As a Maintenance Tech you will play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal functioning and safety of our healthcare facility. The ideal candidate should possess a combination of technical skills, attention to detail, and qualities that align with the unique demands of a healthcare environment, while demonstrating a dedication to providing excellent customer service.
Driving record should meet University underwriting guidelines to drive vehicle in performance of University business. Current underwriting guidelines include possession a valid driver's license, issued in the United States; at least 21 years of age; at least three years of driving experience; maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
Qualifications
License or Certification:- N/A- Valid driver's license may be required.Education, Training and Years of Experience:- High school graduate or equivalent work experience required.- Previous experience in the areas of preventative maintenance, and housekeeping preferred.Machines, Equipment Used:- Motor vehicles, outdoor equipment such as lawn mowers and snow blowers, personal protective equipment, dollies, hand tools, ladders, brooms, vacuums, meters, carts, knives, hose, mops, power tools, high duster, vacuum, spray bottles, floor polisher, linen carts, trash carts- General office equipment such as telephone, copy machine, fax machine, calculator, computer.Physical Requirements: - Good visual acuity and ability to communicate.- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds on a regular basis and ability to push/pull a minimum of 50 pounds, which includes lifting, pushing and/or pulling equipment, supplies and tools. Reasonable assistance may be requested when lifting pushing and/or pulling are undertaken that exceeds these minimum requirements- Ability to demonstrate safe retrieval skills from above head to floor level with objects up to 50 pounds.- Must demonstrate the ability to tolerate frequent position changes such as twisting, stooping, reaching, squatting, kneeling, pushing/pulling, and bending positions for complete shift.- Ability to work on ladders, scaffolds and be able to sit, stand and walk for momentary to extended periods of time.- Ability to safely work with hazardous materials.Compliance:- Adheres to the company's Standards of Business Conduct.- Maintains current licensure and/or certifications, if applicable.Skills and Abilities:- Ability to speak, read, write, and communicate effectively.- Ability to coordinate, analyze, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines in a detail-oriented manner.- Ability to work independently without supervision.Environmental Conditions:- Indoor, temperature controlled, smoke-free environment.
