Encino Energy LLC is Hiring a Production Engineer Near Houston, TX

Description

Job Summary

Encino Acquisition Partners is seeking to hire a Production Engineer, to support ongoing operations in the Utica Basin. The position reports to the Production Engineering Manager. The Production Engineer is responsible for overseeing daily operation of wells, including constant monitoring of well performance, planning, and understanding workover and artificial lift operations to maximize recovery. The candidate will have limited review of work by supervisor, viewed as competent in all areas of discipline expertise, and serves as a lead or source of information to other employees. Some flexibility in title depending on selected candidates experience. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Own performance of producing wells and optimize production associated lease operating costs
  • Assist in maximizing the daily production and ultimate recovery of producing properties
  • Monitor and track well downtimes
  • Identifying and justify potential production enhancement, well repairs, and workovers opportunities on candidate wells
  • Monitor production rate of gas and oil from producing wells with the ability to diagnose, identify corrective actions and implement solutions to optimize the performance of individual wells
  • Identify methods to maximize the utilization of well assets, equipment, pipelines, compressors, etc.
  • Identifying facility bottlenecks and underperforming equipment
  • Ensure proper maintenance plans are established for well production equipment
  • Communicate with Production Superintendents, Lease Operators, and Optimizers on a regular basis to maintain a complete understanding of wells and any existing issues
  • Analyze offset wells to determine full lifecycle artificial lift design and optimization
  • Aid in maintaining all water delivery, gathering, and disposal systems
  • Anticipate and plan for all possible events and outcomes that could impact the execution or desired outcome of a project, the validity of an assumption, the accuracy of an estimate, or the result of an analysis or evaluation
  • Plan and coordinate well repair, workover, and recompletion activities and facility and construction operations
  • Manage projects regarding safety, proposed timeline, and budgeted cost
  • Regularly communicate with management regarding project status, objectives, and goals
  • Work closely with reservoir, facilities, completions engineers and those in other disciplines
  • Oversee state and federal regulatory and environmental compliance
  • Responsible for reporting monthly production volume to state and federal agencies
  • Ensure well files, both electronic and hard copy, are accurate and current
  • Supervise Production Engineering Analyst(s) and facilitate their professional development

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Proven track record of engineering leadership and ability to identify opportunities to improve operations in terms of safety, integrity, and reliability
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the capacity to make technical and economic recommendations
  • Demonstrate ability to run economic analysis in support of well optimization projects, ongoing operational activities, and other business considerations
  • Working knowledge of well optimization techniques, including workovers, recompletions, and technology of artificial lift methods including gas-lift, plunger lift, and combination there of
  • Prior experience in production processing and surface facility design, operation, and maintenance
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with good working knowledge of all oil and gas operations
  • Proficiency or working knowledge of industry standard software tools and packages:
  • ARIES, WellView, Spotfire, CygNet, MS Office suite, OFM, OVS, Snap, Whitson, IHS Harmony, Ambyint, TAM (Echometer), and Carte
  • Technical proficiency in performing nodal analysis, gas lift design, wellbore hydraulics, Echometer interpretation 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with small multi-disciplinary team settings
  • Strong track record of leadership, initiative, and project management with effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Strengths in developing and mentoring staff and working collaboratively with an asset team
  • Advanced technical and interpersonal skills with the proven ability to coordinate multiple initiatives and supervise diverse teams in support of large-scale completions operations
  • Conducts themselves and the operation with stringent safety, environmental and regulatory practices

Education

Bachelor’s degree in petroleum, mechanical, or chemical engineering required, professional registration preferred.

A minimum of eight years of oil and gas related experience. Prefer 3 years of production engineering

Relocation

This position is not eligible for domestic relocation.

Travel Requirements

The percentage of travel anticipated for this position is 20% - 30%, including overnight extended stays.

Work Environment

This job is predominately located in a professional office environment with occasional travel to the field operations. 

Work Schedule

Encino has a compressed work week with a “4/9/4” Work Schedule. Employees have the option to work four nine-hour days with the addition of four hours each Friday. Some flexibility in hours is allowed. The selected candidate is expected to work in the office three days a week (Monday – Wednesday) with the option to work remote two days a week.
