As a Director of Software Engineering, you will lead and collaborate with our Frontend, Backend, DevOps, and Instrument developers to help synergize the individual components of our software architecture, and develop software that interacts with scientific instruments, drives scientific research, and yields new insights for scientists.

Our ideal candidate will have:

• Undergraduate degree (BA or BS) with a minimum of 8 years lab experience, MS with 6 years lab experience, or PhD with 2 years post-doctoral experience in Immunology, Cell biology, Bioengineering or other related field
• Demonstrated understanding of ex vivo human organresearch studies, ideally with experience with organoids and/or microfluidics for target engagement and/or disease modeling
• Prior experience working with mammalian cell cultures or stem cells with knowledge of sterile cell culture technique
• Knowledge of emerging technologies and motivation to continually improve processes
• Ability to troubleshoot problems, provide possible solution, and implement solutions
• Strong written and oral communication skills and interpersonal skills
• Ability to exercise good time management and prioritize tasks while successfully managing multiple tasks simultaneously
• Excellent problem-solving abilities with the desire to produce high quality data
• Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment
• Supportive of quality requirements with an exemplary eye for detail
• Experience with analytical techniques such as flow cytometry, immunofluorescent imaging techniques ELISA, gene expression analysis is highly desirable
• Experience primary human cell culture and isolation of immune cells is a strong plus
• Knowledge of microfluidic systems, material science, statistics, cell/molecular biology or building in vitro models that replicate aspects of disease is highly desirable
• Demonstrable experience leading small teams
