Since 1960, we have been committed to providing clients with the highest level of legal services through a wide variety of practice areas from our three office locations: Providence and Newport, RI, and Boston, MA. Among the largest and most experienced in New England, our Litigation Department is recognized nationally for its high-quality work.

We are currently seeking Associate candidates with two to five years of experience to work in our Litigation Department . This position is based in our Providence, Rhode Island office.

The ideal candidate will possess:

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Ability to work professionally with clients and other AP&S team members.

· Understanding of federal and state court rules and practice.

· Experience researching and drafting memoranda and briefs.

· Experience handling discovery responses, requests, and disputes in complex matters.

· Ability to research and learn new substantive legal topics.

· Superior time management and organization skills.

AP&S’s Litigation Department has a sophisticated and diverse practice, including complex matters related to commercial disputes products liability, intellectual property, products liability, and health care. Litigation Associates work collaboratively on a wide variety of cases with attorneys at all levels to solve problems and achieve superior results. AP&S values teamwork and seeks to foster an environment in which attorneys can grow into their careers.

Requirements:

· Juris doctor and must be and remain licensed and in good standing to practice law in Rhode Island.

· Licensed and in good standing to practice law in Connecticut and/or Massachusetts.
