Business Development Manager

Seeking a Business Development Manager who is excited to play an integral part of the Sales Team in an established and growing company providing Software as a Service to First Responders. This role will focus on identifying and acquiring new clients.

The Right Fit for the Role:

The ideal candidate has excellent skills in communication, critical thinking, and the ability to help others understand the need for change. Candidates with proven experience selling Software as a Service who are true sales hunters, driven, persistent, and have experience building and executing new business development will do well in this role.

As a member of our sales team, you will have responsibility for a specified sales territory, which may include domestic and international locations. This is not a management position; it is an individual contributor position in our sales organization in our Austell, GA office.

Job Description:

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for all new business acquisition for both targeted proactive prospects as well as all incoming website leads, tradeshow leads, distributor leads, etc. in their geographic region. You will be expected to target, engage, and consult with prospects regarding our solutions and provide quotations for service.

This role will report to the Business Development Director and will require an excellent understanding of both the Operative IQ system as well as the EMS and Fire industry to understand the needs and internal dynamics of this type of organization. Individuals in this role must possess a high level of initiative, business acumen and ability to clearly articulate the value of Operative IQ solutions. The Business Development Manager should approach new business development with a positive yet persistent attitude, seeking to provide customers a better future state. Collaboration with the Territory Account Manager will be imperative during the later stages of the sales cycle.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Business Development Director to develop strategies and processes to effectively target potential clients and provide solutions to help with overall Operations Management
  • Critically understand clients’ needs based off consultation and thorough research to qualify prospective accounts and provide a solution to fit their needs
  • Establish productive, professional relationships with key personnel at targeted accounts
  • Focus on creating valuable interactions at each stage of the sales cycle and helping key contacts build consensus and establish the commitment for change
  • Proactively seek out and overcome objections
  • Collaborate with the Account Management team by including them on customer communication so they are aware of the prospect’s sales cycle status
  • Demonstrate a full understanding of the Operative IQ solutions and products
  • Deliver software product demonstrations through Microsoft Teams webinars and onsite client presentations
  • Work within Salesforce for research, quotations, sales forecasts, and documentation of sales activities
  • Coordinate prospect and sales activities with distribution partners representing accounts within the territory
  • Achieve performance objectives, sales forecasts, and territory demo and opportunity quotas
  • Up to 25% travel within the assigned territory which could include both domestic and international locations
  • Represent the company and Operative IQ brand at industry trade shows
  • Responsibilities do not include Account Management once clients are brought on board
  • Be a positive, productive member of the sales team and overall company

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of 2 - 3 years Software Sales or Direct Sales experience
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, presentation)
  • Skilled presenter in delivering customized product demonstrations, in person and online
  • Exemplary follow up skills
  • Knowledge of the First Responder (Fire, EMS, Law Enforcement) industry a plus
  • Knowledge of operations management software and how it applies to small businesses
  • Experience in being a member of a Sales Team
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM, Microsoft Teams preferred
