Position Summary

At Empower, we're transforming healthcare with innovative medications, and we're looking for a dynamic Vice President, Business Development to join our mission-driven team. As a key leader, you will play a critical role in driving growth and expanding our company's market presence. This position is vital to our mission, your ability to identify and pursue new business opportunities through partnerships, acquisitions, and market expansion will be crucial to our success.

Your responsibilities will include leading and managing a team of Business Development Directors, guiding them to achieve strategic goals and objectives across various categories and channels, such as Men's Health, Women’s Health, Longevity, IV Nutrition, International, and Telemedicine. You will develop and implement business development strategies, including defining and implementing sales channels and go-to-market strategies.

You'll work closely with internal teams across Marketing, Product Development, and Operations to ensure our business development efforts align seamlessly with our overall company goals. Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and industry influencers, will be central to your role as a representative of the company at customer meetings, industry events, and beyond.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Focus is on acquiring new customers and collaborating with account teams in expanding market share in existing customer segments. Leads the "land" part of our land and expand strategy.
  • Leads and manages a team of Business Development Directors, providing guidance and support to achieve strategic goals and objectives.
  • Develops and implements business development strategies to drive growth and expand the company's market presence, including defining and implementing sales channels and go-to-market strategies.
  • Identifies and pursues new business opportunities through strategic partnerships, acquisitions, and market expansion.
  • Collaborates with internal teams, including Marketing, Product Development, and Operations, to align business development efforts with overall company goals.
  • Analyzes market trends and competitive landscape to identify areas for growth and development.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and industry influencers.
  • Serves as a representative of the company in meetings with customers, partners, and industry events.
  • Acts with urgency to capitalize on market opportunities and drive results.
  • Sets and monitors key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Monitor industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the business development team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Oversees and evaluates team performance, providing constructive feedback and guidance to ensure both individual growth and team excellence.
  • Assesses and navigates the evolving needs of the department, playing a pivotal role in the recruitment and onboarding of new talents, thereby ensuring our team remains at the forefront of communication innovation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in business development, with a proven track record of driving revenue growth and expanding market share.
  • Experience managing a team of business development professionals, preferably in a healthcare or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
