Position SummaryIn the dynamic and innovative environment at Empower, the role of a Chemist II is crucial to our commitment to excellence in pharmaceutical manufacturing and Quality Control (QC). This position is designed for those who are passionate about leveraging their chemical expertise to enhance the quality, safety, and efficacy of our medications. As a Chemist II, you will be at the forefront of our efforts to ensure that every product we produce meets the highest standards of quality and integrity, reflecting our core values of people, quality, service, and innovation.
As part of our dedicated team, you will perform essential physical and chemical tests on raw materials, active pharmaceutical ingredients, and finished products using advanced techniques. Your work will involve supporting and implementing sophisticated experimental protocols, ensuring the accuracy, reproducibility, and reliability of experimental results. Your ability to analyze data, interpret results, and communicate findings will be key to driving continuous improvement and innovation within our laboratory.
In addition to your technical responsibilities, you will play a vital role in maintaining our lab's operational excellence. This includes ensuring proper inventory of test reagents, performing maintenance and calibration of instruments, and adhering to stringent regulatory and departmental standards. Your meticulous attention to detail and adherence to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and current Good Laboratory Practices (cGLP) will be essential in maintaining the highest standards of scientific integrity and data quality.

Duties and ResponsibilitiesTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to bend at the waist and knees as well as twist at the waist. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. Must be able to wear laboratory protective gowning and equipment, including but not limited to gowning, goggles, face shields, respirators, and protective gloves. Personal protective equipment and respirators are essential for the health and safety of employees. Position requires working in the laboratory as well as sitting. Standing 4-8 hours per scheduled workday.
