The HR Partner plays a critical role in the Global HR team in providing HR support across functions and locations in partnership with business leaders, in service of driving employee engagement and achieving business objectives.

This position is a first point of contact for leaders and employees, and is responsible for bringing to life the following Human Resource activities and initiatives within their designated team: Recruitment, including processing staff requisitions, job postings, outreach, interviewing, candidate selection; Employee Development, including performance management, talent review and succession planning; partner with leaders on team effectiveness, conflict resolution; and other HR processes and initiatives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Works closely with HR Leadership, guides managers and employees through the application of HR policies and business processes (i.e. performance management, recruitment, etc.).
  • Provides direction and recommendations on company policies and procedures, including the interpretation of requests to policy questions and exceptions.
  • Recruitment
    • Works closely with HR leader to manage the end-to-end recruiting process and system.
    • Develops and implements recruiting strategies for multiple functions and recruiting plans for open positions, including creating creative sourcing solutions for hard to fill positions.
    • Educates hiring managers on recruiting responsibilities, processes, and technologies.
    • Sources, interviews, evaluates, and presents qualified candidates for open positions
    • Partners with HR and business leaders to ensure job requirements and core competencies identified in the job description align with business needs, proactively identifying gaps and making recommendations.
    • Manages and facilitates company diversity initiatives related to recruitment, including integrating diversity into the recruitment process to ensure a diverse candidate pool.
    • Manages and facilitates the onboarding process.
    • Ensures all recruiting activities are conducted within legal parameters and regulations, and are in accordance with internal policies.
    • Participates in the Affirmative Action Planning process, ensuring proper disposition coding, diverse candidate pools, manager training.
  • Employee Development
    • Partners and consult with HR leader and business leaders to strengthen leadership/management capabilities, organizational design, and employee engagement.
      • In partnership with the HR Leader, coordinates and/or delivers:
        • talent review programs
        • employee development program content
        • client group participation in enterprise management and leadership development programs
        • Maintains succession plans and supports workforce capability analysis and planning as needed.
        • Supports HR leaders and Employee Relations Manager with employee relations issues, including providing strategies and processes for employees and supervisors.
        • Conducts exit interviews and provides summary reports to appropriate parties.
        • Coordinate the voluntary employee departure process, ensuring compliance with corporate policies and applicable employment legislation.
        • Prepares and coordinates employee documentation including letters, notification, communications, and job descriptions.
  • Various HR Processes
    • Partners with Compensation to perform analyses on compensation procedures.
    • Provides support to HR leaders as needed on various initiatives.
    • Prepares reports, presentations, and material as needed.
    • Guides employees and managers through HRIS self-service transactions. Perform other non-self-service HRIS transactions to ensure data is accurate.
    • Maintains position control by reconciling budgeted positions in HRIS and finance budget systems to ensure accuracy in personnel planning.
    • Develops and generates reports as requested - including staffing, headcount, compensation, etc.
    • Maintain personnel files, ensuring all HR/payroll records are filed on a timely basis.
    • Maintains and follows SOX processes with regards to employee transactions.
    • Provides special project support to the HR Leader and Lead HRBPs as required.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of three years' experience in a Human Resources Generalist capacity or other Human Resources operational role.
  • Proficient in MS Office with a high level of comfort using computer systems such as HRIS and SharePoint. Advanced knowledge of Excel preferred.
  • Demonstrated capability to interface and maintain effective relationships with all departments and employees in a team-oriented environment.
  • Uses discretion, good judgment, and initiative to independently complete day to day responsibilities and tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and plan work activities, meet timelines, and deliver appropriate and accurate results.
  • Identifies and resolves issues proactively and quickly, utilizing effective analysis techniques.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain working knowledge of, and compliance with, applicable regulations that govern our business including, but not limited to: SOX, GXP, employment standards, human rights legislation, health & safety regulations, Emergent's Code of Conduct, and employment policies.
  • Must be able to operate in a fast paced, highly structured team-based environment.
