As a Client Discovery Associate (CDA) on the Client Discovery Team (CDT), you’ll play a pivotal role by engaging prospect clients who have sophisticated needs. You’ll introduce them to EFE’s Wealth Planning Services and empower them to schedule with an appointment with our industry leading financial planners. During this first interaction with the prospect, you’ll help the prospect capture their major financial goals and uncover any additional financial challenges. If the CDA is successful, the prospect will hold a meeting with our financial planner with the goal of crafting a well-rounded financial plan and establishing a client relationship.

In addition to an earnest desire to help people, we are looking for the ideal candidate to complement the team’s existing talents. For this CDA role, we are seeking a candidate with proven ability to clearly articulate and personalize EFE's value proposition and differentiators to prospective clients. The candidate should have a strong desire to be a top performer who is capable of handling an assigned book of opportunities, providing prospects with timely follow-up to improve the conversion of leads which are generated through marketing and partner activities. Responsibilities:

  • Actively engages the client in exploratory dialogue to identify needs/wants and value expectations to support the achievement of client objectives
  • Applies knowledge of EFE’s Wealth Management capabilities to promote products and services (retirement planning, investments, estate planning, insurance, and tax planning) to convey how EFE financial planners could potentially address their needs
  • Accurately assess client needs and build a prospect profile to identify the right tier/treatment based on defined assignment criteria, while collecting and recording crucial client information for Planners
  • Support marketing strategies to attract, convert and retain new clients; provide insights/feedback to business partners on prospect’s desires, needs, and areas of concern
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with Planners and other internal partners to share information about the prospect interaction

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of key areas of Wealth Management solutions and services (retirement planning, investments, estate planning, insurance, and tax planning)
  • Strong interpersonal and active listening skills; matches client’s style; able to build an environment where clients are comfortable to share personal financial information
  • Ability to build strong initial client engagement in a phone-based environment & effectively explore sophisticated financial & personal topics
  • Strong emotional intelligence; handles rejection well; ability to show compassion, care, and concern appropriately
  • Exhibits excellent communication skills and phone presence while engaging with clients; shares information concisely and makes next steps clear
  • Strong time management, organizational, and prioritization skills
  • Uses systems effectively to meet client needs; ability to multitask between lead management, phone, computer, and SMS systems.

Additional Skills/Qualities

  • Receptive to feedback; coachable; has a personal aim to improve performance
  • Motivated to build a personal plan to accomplish work and achieve goals/objectives
  • 3-5 years of financial services experience, experience in a virtual/phone-based sales environment preferred
  • Desire to acquire Series 65 or 7/66 may be required for career advancement depending on role
  • College degree preferred
