We are looking for a Medical Collections Specialist who will ensure an accurate and expedient billing process to facilitate timely collections and minimize denial for payments. Qualifications:High School Diploma or equivalent and five (5) years’ experience in medical collection and/or medical billing; Associates Degree in a related field preferredSpecialization preferred in Alcohol/Substance abuse billing.Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and ability to articulate care plans to payors of treatment serviceCritical thinking and problem-solving skillsKnowledge and understanding of the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) criteria is preferredValid driver’s license and reliable transportationThe Medical Collections Specialist will play a key role within our organization, performing the following tasks: Develop and maintain relationships with program managers and payers to expedite collections and to minimize denials for payment. Ensure accurate and expedient bill processing to include collections for all assigned areas of responsibilities. Coordinate file maintenance activities with the Billing Manager to ensure accurate electronic and paper claim submission. Continually review and update processing of areas of responsibilities to ensure that procedures generate appropriate revenues and maximize cash. Develop relationships with program managers and payers to expedite collections and to minimize denials for payments. Research issues impeding collections and develop appropriate resolutions. Maintain up to date information on payers billing requirements and covered services. Understand insurance collection process and utilization claim review. Compensation: $19.23 per hourHours: Monday-Friday, Full-time
