Eastern Airlines LLC is Hiring a Security Specialist 2 Near Kansas, MO
General
- Supports the Company’s Ground Security Coordinator program (GSC) and assists with training when necessary.
- Works with People Services to ensure the Known Crewmember Database (KCM) is kept up-to-date and accurate;
- Supports the Company’s security training program for all employees, contractors, and vendors.
- Participates in employee new hire orientation to ensure proper communication and expectation of the Company’s security-related goals.
- Acts as the Alternate Facility Security Officer (A-FSO) when the primary FSO is unavailable and may respond to inquiries from the DOD in this role which may include the sensitive handling of classified information or information shared by other government agencies (FBI, etc.).
- Works with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) as assigned or required in the conduct of audits or other related matters.
- Supports the Company’s participation in obtaining airport Security Identification (SIDA) badges for appropriate employees, and the issuance of KCM badges to Flight Crews as appropriate.
- Will work with as requested flight manifest data in MIS Choice for the Company to ensure compliance with FAA, DOT, DOD, and other company requirements.
- May be asked to issue notifications and act as an alternate point of contact on charter operations with the TSA or DOD as required.
- Works with the Company’s training department to ensure that all security training is properly documented, and that initial/recurrent training is done as required.
- Maintains availability 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week as required to answer security-related questions, address security concerns, and take the lead on security-related incidents in the absence of the Manager of Security.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as needed and/or assigned by the Manager of Security or Director of Security.
Qualifications
- The Sr. Specialist - Security will have detailed knowledge and understanding of the security training requirements for flight crews and all employees as spelled out in DOT, FAA, DOD, or Company regulations.
- A bachelor’s degree in education or a relevant Aviation field is preferred; a High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- Two (2) or more years of experience working in a Flight and/or Airport Operations environment utilizing large turbo aircraft is mandatory; international experience preferred
- Results-oriented with the ability to balance diverse and dynamic operational requirements.
- Prior experience in airline security or related discipline is preferred
- Must be able to pass government FSO security training within one (1) year or less
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities will also include:
- Ability to handle and maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information and may also include classified information as part of the A-FSO role.
- Ability to effectively communicate through written, verbal, and electronic means.
- Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Proficient / Intermediate or better skills in MS PowerPoint, Excel, and MS Office Suite.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision; exercises independent good judgment, and appropriate discretion, and takes initiative.
- Self-motivated and independent problem-solving ability.
- Ability to travel out of state if needed.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must be able to pass a two (2) year drug and alcohol background check, pre-employment drug test, and criminal history records check (CHRC)
