Summary of Duties:

• Develops, implements, and maintains Safeguards and Security (S&S) program protection processes tailored to address site-specific characteristics and requirements, current technology, ongoing programs, and operational needs to achieve acceptable protection levels that reduce risks in a cost-effective manner
• Interfaces and ensures proper integration between S&S programs and other disciplines such as classification, counterintelligence, cyber system operations, physical security, Nuclear Enterprise Assurance (NEA), program management, engineering, and product realization
• Develops, implements, and maintains processes to ensure S&S requirements and protective measures are met throughout the lifecycle of KCNSC programs
• Incorporates risk-based approach to protect assets and activities
• Directs and facilitates divisional projects, technical and/or operational efforts that cross divisions/functions, including the application of sound management techniques to reduce costs and improve operations
• Functions as a divisional project lead, which may involve responsibility for coordinating some of the work of specific individuals and providing direction to them in connection with divisional projects that span across divisions
• Coordinates the technical or operational efforts of management, including evaluation of technical or operational objectives and programs to determine compatibility with divisional directives
• Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements within the division in efficiency of services performed
• Utilizes best-practice and innovative processes to define, coordinate, and implement procedural changes to assure cost-effective operations throughout the division
• Negotiates agreements and/or obtains approvals for divisional improvement programs
• Evaluates reports, decisions, and results of functional programs in relation to established goals
• Black Belt or Lean Expert Certification or the ability to obtain within 18 months from hire
• Derivative Classifier authorization or the ability to obtain within 3 months from hire
