RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible for (a) Timely and accurate billing claims submission, and collected in accordance with the Health Center’s policies and procedures, (b) all monies received are appropriately posted, including electronic remittances, daily mail, or any other money collected, and (c) all visits are accurately recorded in the patient management system.
DUTIES:
1. Review denied billing, rebilling, posting payment for correction.
2. Prepare weekly and monthly billing and AR reports and analyze patients AR to identify and collection on unpaid accounts.
3. Understands and can make informed decisions in conformance with existing procedures for billing of claims to Medicaid, Medicare, third party insurances, etc. Has a comprehensive understanding of patient management and financial functions.
4. Communicates with third party payors and other institutions. Follows-up on all issues that arise with third-party collections and payers.
5. Maintains files and logs on all pending, denied, and paid claims as necessary for accurate accounts receivable documentation.
6. Maintains relevant written documents and computerized spreadsheets including appropriate contractual adjustments to accounts.
7. Follows-up on unpaid or denied claims.
8. Monitors patterns in unpaid and denied claims for corrective action and improved performance.
9. Verifies insurances by internet, phone or other means, as appropriate.
10. Reconciles all visits generated to billing and revenue reports, including visits by uninsured patients.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred. High School graduate or equivalent required.
At least five (5) years billing experience in healthcare setting.
Working knowledge of computers required.
Expert knowledge of Medical billing software program is required eCW preferred.
Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and perform critical work under deadlines.

WORK SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm, 35 hours per week
