Responsible for high-level planning, strategy, optimization, and documentation of network infrastructure solutions. Analyzes current and emerging technologies and provides technical consulting and recommendations based on assessments of the organization's network technology needs. Translates business requirements into network or process designs and serves as the lead networking subject matter expert in support of business expansion.

• Plans network infrastructure using advanced modeling techniques and in-depth analysis.
• Configures and upgrades software drivers for network compatibility.
• Plans implementation of enhancements and upgrades to the network.
• Develops test plans, implementation plans, and project timelines for network solution projects.
• Provides technical direction and frameworks to meet business needs.
• Serves as a key representative and subject matter expert on major network initiatives.
• Creates, updates, and maintains networking standards and guidelines.
• Writes technical and business documentation regarding network infrastructure.
• Leads high level scoping and costing activities of network infrastructure implementation.
• Participates and contributes to the overall strategy, design and documentation of networks.
• Plans and implements highly complex changes to the network environment.
• Creates presentations/solutions and articulate plans to leadership and stakeholders.
• Collaborates with business users, technical staff and management to define business and technical requirements.
• Evaluates and recommends new products, maintains knowledge of emerging technologies for application to the enterprise based on business requirements.
• Provides technical leadership for Network Engineers and Network Administrators.
• Interacts with external vendors to evaluate technology changes, including licensing and contracts, and their impact on the business.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other related field or equivalent relevant experience. Master's Degree preferred.
• CompTIA Network and/or CCNE certification preferred.
• 8-15 years of experience in network administration; A post graduate degree from an accredited university may substitute for 6 years of experience.
• Ability to maintain government clearance or investigation.

• Ability to assist in creation of network architecture scope, definition, gaps, construction, and execution.
• Ability to assist in evaluating, analyzing, and designing networks.
• Detail oriented; able to document and follow detailed instructions within test scripts as well as defects tracking documents (i.e., steps to recreate the problem).
• Understanding of testing concepts and how testing fits in with the overall project life cycle.
• Detailed understanding of configuration of required network component or service technology.
• Excellent technical knowledge of network, security and storage infrastructure including: local area networks, wide area networks, wireless networking, VPN, firewalls, routers, switches, load balancers, WAN optimizers, endpoint security and encryption, proxy servers, digital certificates, data center management and cabling standards.
• Superior knowledge of networking hardware, software, standards, best practices, and industry trends.
• Highly analytical and logical; skilled at problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and tactical level.
• Ability to create technical documentation for network design, build, and transition.
