A Direct Support Specialist (DSS) is a highly experienced individual who has an extensive background working with I/DD individuals, including following Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSP) and implementing protocols. They support individuals to succeed in their life skills, independence, community integration, and much more! They assist the individual in accomplishing their goals as outlined in their Individual Support Plan (ISP). If you are looking for a career path, then DSP Connections is for you!
Pay scale: $24 - $27
*Part time only available*
Qualifications:
* Minimum 2 years’ experience supporting individuals in the I/DD community * Oregon Intervention System (OIS) training (will provide class opportunities) * CPR/First aid training within 30 days of hire (will provide class opportunities) * Reliable transportation to/from work * Ability to follow a Positive Behavior Support Plan * Ability to work within a team of Direct Support staff * Valid driver’s license, insurance, and clean driving record. A motor vehicle report will be run on all DSSs who transport clients in a company vehicle.
* Positive and outgoing personality with the ability to carry a good conversation
* Ability to frequently bend, kneel, stand, twist, or reach
* Ability to walk and/or stand for the majority of each shift
