We are seeking an engaging, detail-oriented, and passionate Events and Young Professional Development Manager to coordinate and facilitate Dress for Success Houston's events and Young Professionals Group.
Event Planning and Execution
· Managing the logistical execution of events while working with vendors, staff, and volunteers. This includes coordinating with Development team members for planning, event day coordination, and post-event responsibilities.
· DFS Houston Events include:
o Her Path Forward
§ Month-long annual giving campaign
o Models of Success (MOS)
§ A celebration of client success/fashion event
§ On-site (attendance 170)
o PowHER Hour
§ Annual wine-tasting event
§ Coordinate with underwriters and sponsors
§ Off-site (attendance 250)
o Quarterly Board Meetings
§ On-site (attendance 20)
o Rendezvous with DFS Houston
§ Annual celebration with a silent auction, wine pull, and raffle
§ Volunteer and event auction chairs
§ Off-site (attendance 500 )
o Corporate Guild
§ Four quarterly luncheons
· Local Restaurant or Event Venue
· Off-site (attendance 60)
§ Fall Fashion Event
· Local Fashion Designer
· Off-site (attendance 125)
o Houston Marathon Charity Team – RFAR Event Management
§ A Kick-Off Event in September to build excitement for the event.
§ A celebratory event recognizing our race participants – Brunch Bash
§ Off-site (attendance 100) – Cheer Station and Third-Party Fundraising Event
§ Supported by Development Data Assistant as the role of Registrar
§ Supported by the Director of Development serving in the role of Sponsorship Coordinator and Marathon Liaison
§ Supported by Marketing Associate for all print, design and external DFS Houston Communications.
· Related tasks: Oversee event logistics including but not limited to; entertainment, valet parking, food and beverage vendors, walk-throughs, guest list, mailing invitations, menu, silent auction, in-kind solicitations, raffle, wine pull, run of the show, and décor
Young Professionals Group Liaison (WOW: Women of Wardrobe)
· Maintain membership to a manageable level of 175
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent amount of direct professional experience required
· Intermediate computer skills: experience with Microsoft 365 suite and CRM or donor management system required; Salesforce preferred
· Ability to prioritize time-sensitive tasks in a fast-paced environment
· Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
· Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and results
· Ability to work with and relate to a range of people from diverse backgrounds and experiences
· Maintain a calm, caring, and professional demeanor, always
· Polished, professional appearance
· Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation
· Ability to lift 40 pounds
Working Hours
· Monday through Friday on-site at DFS Houston with two remote days per month.
· Must be able to work evening and/or weekend events; approximately four per month
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $48,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
