Human Resources Generalist
Overview
The Human Resources Generalist plays a crucial role in supporting DreamHost employees by actively contributing to various aspects of benefits, compliance, personnel, and organizational development. Engaging in initiatives such as payroll management, employee onboarding, benefits administration, new hire orientation, internal communications, and fostering employee engagement, the role is integral to the overall success of the organization. Committed to continuous improvement, the Human Resources team leverages its expertise to cultivate a culture of joyful excellence. Based at the Fullerton, CA office, the Human Resources Generalist reports directly to the VP of People, ensuring seamless collaboration and effective support for the entire team. As the Human Resources Generalist, you'll need to be on-site five days a week.
Responsibilities
Manage the onboarding process for all full-time team members, including the coordination of training sessions and employee record collection for all new employees as needed throughout the year
Manage and process bi-weekly payroll, review timesheets, and train new managers on timesheet approval
Process employee information changes (transfers, terminations, and more), payroll and benefits updates, and change information in appropriate systems
Manage the bi-weekly retirement program funding; create, review, and submit reports, update employee deferrals, and more
Produce accurate and detailed reports related to payroll, compensation, and benefits in response to audits, grants, and internal inquiries
Assist with current HR department processes and work to streamline and develop a procedural guide to reflect various departmental practices
Assist with maintaining compliance regulations across benefits, payroll, HR documentation, and ad hoc reports
Conducts employee eligibility verifications
Assist with workers' compensation process for the company, including maintaining and submitting OSHA reports as needed
Support Vice President of People on additional projects
Works independently and within a team on special non-recurring and ongoing projects.
Acts as a project manager for special projects, which may include: planning and coordinating multiple presentations, disseminating information, and coordinating direct mailings
Paycom. Have extensive experience with Paycom and be an SME with its use
People Data Analytics. Providing meaningful People Data to aid in personalization, data drive decision-making for workforce productivity
Data Analysis. Intermediate to advanced excel skills are strongly preferred, including multi-function formulas, pivot-tables, and formatting techniques. Uses shortcuts to work quickly and efficiently
Organization and project management. Keep track of upcoming, ongoing, and past work products. Understands shifting priorities and deadlines and can juggle multiple and varied projects simultaneously
Attention to detail. Thinks critically about the details of a task at hand. Has an uncommon ability to catch errors at a glance
Proactive and ambitious. Possesses an insatiable desire for answers and information, constantly researching and establishing new contacts and resources
Communication with stakeholders. Gears communications towards the target audience and employs negotiation and buy-in skills as needed

Minimum of 4 years experience in Human Resources, tech industry preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field. Practical experience will be considered as a substitute
SHRM-CP or PHR certification is preferred
As the Human Resources Generalist, your presence on-site is required five days a week.
