The Production Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of manufacturing, including scheduling, production and schedule attainment (OTD), maintenance and facilities, and continuous improvement in a multi-site, engineered-to-order/made-to-order manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• LMA (Lead, Manage, hold Accountable) manufacturing planning and execution, maintenance, and continuous improvement personnel.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship of employees to help build high-performing teams. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
• Uphold and foster DRC’s core values throughout the organization: 1) Have a Can-Do Attitude, 2) Do the Right Thing, 3) Be a Problem Solver and 4) Put the Customer First.
• Responsible for on-time delivery and safety goal attainment, as they relate to production floor activities.
• P&L budget input and accountability.
• Promote our ongoing culture of safety, quality and customer satisfaction.
• Evaluate and adjust capacity constraints based on established customer backlog and forecasted demand.
• Align production activities to optimize direct labor headcount and hours in a low volume, high product mix environment.
• Significant production floor presence between multiple facilities to support production, mentor plant leadership, and adjust priorities based on customer and company needs.
• Support plant leadership and human resources in all aspects of employee interactions.
• Identify LEAN initiatives and adjust workflow to optimize efficiency.
• Evaluate and recommend capital investments based on ROI.
• Proactively communicate facility and equipment issues to executive management, and implement counter-measures to minimize impact.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
• Accomplish responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner.

Job Requirements

• Bi-lingual in Spanish.

• Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance and punctuality, Monday through Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm with additional hours as necessary.
• Ability to drive between five local manufacturing facilities (three in Melrose Park and two in Elk Grove Village) to perform duties. Clean driving record required.

Education/Training/Experience

Bachelor’s degree in business, operations, or related field. 8 years of managerial experience in a multi-site, Engineered-to-Order/Made-to-Order manufacturing environment. Experience with multiple plant shifts preferred.
