· Plan and organize day-to-day shop floor operation
· Supervise, train, and support the Production Supervisors to manage the production staff
· Establish production schedules periodically in accordance with Master Schedule
· Ensure adequate scheduling of production staff and minimal downtime
· Develop and implement production procedures and policies
· Oversee production processes and resolve issues impacting production
· Coordinate production with Procurement, Warehouse, Technology and Quality departments and other departments to meet the production goal
· Control production quality and manage production costs
· Ensure that health and safety protocols are adhered to
· Internal materials selecting, ordering, and purchasing
· Coordinate the repair and routine maintenance of production equipment
· Evaluate performance and involvement with the full life-cycle employment process (hiring, progressive discipline, and termination) of production personnel
· Organize and develop relevant training sessions
· Understand the importance of the union contract and be able to interpret and execute the union contract terms appropriately
· Respond to the needs of the main office and report to upper management
· Other duties as assigned

Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college/university or equivalent combination of education, training, and practical experience 
· Minimum five(5) years of progressive experience with managing/overseeing production activities and unionized workforce in the rolling stock, aviation, or heavy trucking assembly industry
· Familiar with the manual assembly process
· Proficient in MS Office software; proficient in ERP systems preferred
· Ability to set up new policies and procedures
