The Office of Dr. Vijay Katari in Frisco, Texas is seeking a Medical Assistant (MA). Pay is negotiable based on your experience and qualifications . We are looking for someone who is personable, professional, dependable, and can multi-task. The Medical Assistant (MA) provides health care services to patients under the direction of the physician. MAs perform routine tasks and are accountable for their own actions and accountable to their supervising physician. As clinic volume increases, must be flexible and adapt.

Clinic hours: 9 am - 5 pm, Monday - Friday for full-time employees. Part-time hours can vary.

1. Front Desk:

• Verify Insurance, charge copay/deductible before seen by physician. Collect outstanding balance.
• Verify eligilibility for annual physical/wellness exam per insurance guidelines
• Request patient reviews to improve care
• Handle clinic phone calls
• Sending faxes and scanning documents

2. Chart Preparation:

• Enter vitals
• New patient: Enter medications, allergies, social history, family history, past history, pharmacy
• Follow up visit, existing patient: Pull chart and edit chart, medications, allergies, verify and update pharmacy

3. Back Office:

• Create lab orders, imaging orders, and referrals

Position Requirements:

• Must be able to check blood pressure manually and obtain patient vitals.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Education: Medical Assistant Certification is preferred.
• Experience: Prior work experience as an MA is not required.
• Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and moving
• May need to lift and carry heavy objects
• Exposure to chemicals, bloodborne pathogens, and patient body fluids
• Our clinic uses NextGen as our EMR/EHR. You will be expected to develop familiarity with this system.
