Position Description:
This position is an integral member of the wholesale sales team and office staff. In many cases, this position is the only contact a current or potential client may have with the company. It is the purpose of this position to offer excellent customer service, maximize sales through e-mail and telemarketing techniques, provide inside sales support to the sales team, and enter orders into our data base system.
Essential Job Functions
Team member:
Display a genuine commitment and willingness to be part of the sales team in the best interest of the organization. Strives to develop strong teamwork skills such as collaboration, critical thinking, positive attitude and effective communication.
Customer Care and positive relationships:
Develop and maintain authentic, friendly relationships with all DTE customers, team members, and employees.
Office sales:
Trade Show / Catalog Request Prospects. Attends trade shows for DTE distribution as needed. Maintains follow-up on trade show contacts and phone prospects that have requested catalog and product information.
Work Schedule:
The Wholesale Sales Representative works a 5-day work schedule. Office hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM/ Friday 8:00 AM to 3 PM. The normal work day is 8 hours with a 30 minute unpaid lunch period and two 15 minute paid breaks. Some trade show and road travel might occasionally be required.
Requirements
Dress Requirements:
Neat, clean, casual and appropriate for a business office. When attending trade shows and conducting customer visits, this position must dress appropriately and professionally.
Skills Required:
Regular use of computers and telephones and a strong background in people skills is a must. Computer proficient and ability to enter data. Outside travel requires that you must be able to perceive sound at a normal speaking level (with or without correction) and ability to receive detailed information through oral and written communication. Must have the visual acuity to operate a motor vehicle and be able to be insured under the DTE driver’s insurance plan.
Physical Requirements:
Requires ordinary ambulatory abilities sufficient to visit other locations; or the ability to stand, walk and manipulate (lift, carry, and move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds.
Other Helpful Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft office, MAC and/or Windows platforms and ability to navigate the internet effectively.
