Door of Hope has been serving the local community for more than 25 years. We are one of Loudoun County's best kept secrets, offering quality housewares and apparel at affordable prices.

We are looking for a friendly and energetic person to help greet customers, receive donations and organize our receiving area. This opportunity is part-time and the hours are 1pm to 6pm Monday to Friday.

Duties

• Greet and direct donors with a friendly professional demeanor as they drop off donated items
• Discard unwanted items while organizing and categorizing quality merchandise
• Manage recycling processes in order to minimize landfill usage
• Maintain a steady flow of merchandise to and from long term storage

Requirements

• Candidate should be comfortable working outdoors in a covered area in all weather conditions.
• This is a drug free workplace and standard professional courtesies are expected of all employees.
• This is a physically demanding job. Candidate should be able to lift heavy packages and items on a regular basis.

Skills Needed for Success (Trainable)

• The ability to identify valuable items for resale and verify their value using available computer systems.
• Familiarity with heavy machinery, including skid steers and forklifts.

Pay: $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 per week
