Don Thornton Automotive is Hiring a HR Specialist Near Tulsa, OK

Job Summary:
Don Thornton Automotive is seeking a dedicated and experienced HR Specialist to join our team in Tulsa, Oklahoma. As an HR Specialist in the automotive industry, you will play a critical role in ensuring the success of our organization by recruiting and retaining top talent, administering employee benefits and compensation, and maintaining a positive and inclusive work environment. This is a full-time, individual contributor role in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and develop recruitment strategies to attract highly qualified candidates
- Manage full-cycle recruiting process, including job postings, resume screening, interviews, and job offers
- Conduct new hire orientation and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed and processed in a timely manner
- Administer employee benefits, including enrolling new hires and managing changes or terminations
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and programs to support employee engagement and retention
- Handle employee relations issues and provide guidance to managers on disciplinary actions and performance improvement plans
- Assist with payroll processing and ensure accuracy of employee records
- Conduct exit interviews and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in HR to continuously improve processes and procedures
Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of HR experience, preferably in the automotive industry
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Experience with full-cycle recruiting and onboarding processes
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems
  • Positive, friendly attitude, along with an eagerness to improve
  • Enjoy working in a dynamic environment
  • An exceptional teammate with ability to collaborate with others effectively
  • SHRM certification is a plus
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
