What you'll do

Our business is built on finding great people and getting out of their way while they build and improve our award-

winning Software as a Service (SaaS) offering. We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to join the DocuSign CLMEngineering team and help scale and build the next generation of CLM experiences. As a technology leader, you will help build a top-tier software organization that is responsible for the development and upkeep of highly scalable, reliable, and available (“5 nines”) systems.

This position is a people manager role reporting to the Senior Director, Engineering.

Responsibility

• Transition DocuSign CLM Platform from private data centers to public cloud
• Transition DocuSign CLM Platform from monolith to microservices
• Enhance DocuSign CLM Platform to support growth and maintain SLA targets
• Build a high performing and responsible engineering team
• Find and develop great talent
• Have a passion for continuous improvement
• Build learning organizations that keep up with the state of the art
• Be an example and mentor to your team
• Deliver products that delight customers while managing the health of the code base through continuous refactoring and management of technical debt
• Be an expert at agile continuous delivery, DevOps, and TDD/BDD and will champion the culture, processes, and tools required to maintain a frictionless, high-quality development environment
• Dive deep into technology, are on the forefront of the latest tools, technologies, and strategies, and help evaluate, prototype, and introduce them to our team
• Provide coaching and leadership in software best practices, automated test strategies, and work toward flattening the cost of change curve for our software products and services
• Experience building high performing, secure applications and building security into the DNA of products
• Prioritize great user experiences and be a partner to product management and engineering, sales, operations, and other parts of the business

Job Designation

Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation)

Preferred job designations are not guaranteed when changing positions within DocuSign. What you bring

Basic 

• 8 years of combined software development and management experience across multiple languages and frameworks or equivalent experience
• 8 years of hands on software development or equivalent experience
• 5 years of managing software engineering teams

Preferred 

• Experience with leading cloud migration projects
• Experience with leading microservice transformation projects
• Demonstrated track record leading geographically dispersed teams
• Experience working in at least 3 languages or paradigms, or equivalent experience
• Experience with REST API abstraction layers in complex enterprise environments with SOA and ROA or equivalent experience
• Experience with large complex data ecosystems and data quality and lifecycle issues
• Demonstrated track record of being a change agent
• Knowledge and experience in high scale, highly available (99.99 ) systems
• Experience with Microsoft technology stack (.NET, C#, SQL Server, etc.)
• SaaS or Cloud experience

Wage Transparency

Based on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations:

California: $165,800 - $265,625 base salary

Illinois and Colorado: $157,900 - $223,075 base salary

Washington and New York (including NYC metro area): $157,900 - $234,275 base salary

This role is also eligible for bonus, equity and benefits.
