DNV Energy Systems group is seeking an Assistant Program Director to join our Phoenix, AZ team. At DNV, we strive to make a difference every single day. Our Phoenix office helps Arizonas businesses and multifamily communities understand their energy use and utilize more clean energy. This Assistant Program Director position requires an experienced professional who will work directly with the client, local team, and national support staff. The ideal candidate will be responsible for partnering with the local DNV team and utility client to develop, write, and execute strategic high-quality strategies, assist with financial and budgetary oversight, assist with managing the DNV team, and help oversee the delivery of contract objectives.

This position is based in our LEED-certified Phoenix, AZ office (Relocation allowance is available).

What Youll Do

  • Work closely with utility client to roll out and execute energy programs for utility customers.
  • Lead efforts to hire, train and supervise administrative, engineering and outreach/marketing staff to meet energy savings goals within budget.
  • Work with the local DNV team to develop program strategies and tactics that help achieve client goals and engage identified local business and multifamily segments.
  • Serve as liaison between local DNV team and utility client.
  • Develop and implement an operations strategy that will meet utility defined performance, financial, and energy efficiency savings goals
  • Demonstrate the ability to find innovative ways to resolve problems.
  • Work closely with utility client personnel to monitor program/project results including energy savings, quality assurance and to develop recommendations to improve the program as needs are identified.
  • Work with Program Analyst to manage budget and performance against goals.
  • Provide support for business development strategies and activities.
  • Present to a variety of organizations including utility customers, trade allies and utility management on energy-efficient technologies and utility incentives for these technologies.
  • Work with the Outreach team to support and develop concepts for concepts for outreach/marketing materials to the extent needed to produce client-ready drafts and final deliverables.
  • Manage and collaborate with program team members to help oversee day-to-day operations.
  • Help oversee executing of weekly, monthly, and annual reporting.

What is Required

  • Bachelors Degree: business, engineering or technical discipline preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of operational, staff management, or project management experience in a technical environment, preferably in a regulated industry (government and/or utility) or consulting environment.
  • Project Manager (PMP) certification is optional, but preferred.
  • Ability to work positively with the wide range of individuals involved in program management.
  • Demonstrated success delivering complex programs within budget.
  • Experience and knowledge relating to energy efficiency and electrification technologies and practices, including commercial HVAC, commercial building, and various lighting technologies.
  • Strong communication skills as demonstrated by experience with presentations, papers, or other public forums; strong report-writing skills.
  • Ability to take technically complex concepts and communicate them in laypersons terms.
  • Solid understanding of Lead Management (CRM) tools and processes.
  • Knowledge of operational process workflows and manage through operational metrics.
  • Intermediate Excel skills including, pivot tables, simple look ups and graphing.
  • Intermediate MS Word skills, including working with document templates.
  • Intermediate MS PowerPoint skills
  • Must be willing and able to travel 10% of the time; some over-night travel required. Most travel will be in Phoenix metro area.
  • Reliable transportation and current drivers license is required.
  • We conduct pre-employment drug and background screening.
