 Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Generalist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounts payable processes, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal departments and external vendors.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

•  Process and review incoming invoices, ensuring accuracy, appropriate approvals, and adherence to company policies.
•  Code and enter invoices into the accounting system, receiving reports, and contracts as necessary.
•  Reconcile discrepancies between invoices and receipts, investigating and resolving issues promptly.
•  Prepare and process electronic payments and paper checks, adhering to payment terms and taking advantage of any available discounts.
•  Collaborate with purchasing and procurement teams to address discrepancies and improve the overall procure-to-pay process.
•  Maintain accurate vendor records, including contact information, payment terms, and tax identification details.
•  Respond to vendor inquiries regarding payment status, discrepancies, and payment history in a timely and professional manner.
•  Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities related to accounts payable, including accruals and reconciliations.
•  Prepare and submit required tax forms, such as 1099s, to ensure compliance with tax regulations.
•  Utilize accounting software, such as Sage, and payroll software, such as Paylocity, for efficient processing of accounts payable tasks.
•  Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations related to accounts payable processes.
•  Contribute to process improvement initiatives, suggesting ways to streamline procedures and enhance efficiency.
•  Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and trends in accounts payable and financial operations.
•  Familiarity with expense management platforms like Ramp to efficiently manage corporate expenses.

Qualifications:

•  Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
•  3-5 years of post undergraduate experience in accounts payable or a related finance role.
•  Proficiency in accounting software, including Sage, and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
•  Experience with payroll software, such as Paylocity, for managing payables related to employee compensation.
•  Familiarity with expense management platforms like Ramp.
•  Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
•  Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
•  Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
•  Familiarity with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
•  Experience with ERP systems or accounting software.
•  Strong organizational and time-management skills.
•  Problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify process inefficiencies and propose solutions
