Job Description:
Responsible for assisting in the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of staff engaged in cleaning and maintaining the site premises by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate staff. Fulfills management responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Supervise daily work of subordinate staff; inspect areas daily to ensure work is being carried out as required
· Evaluate personnel performance; prepares and submits disciplinary actions and incident reports; counsel’s supervisors and custodians
· Review practices instilled into the operation are being followed through and corrects as required
· Perform QAQC’s of areas weekly and report to DFS Management
· Identifies development and training needs, and ensures that all training is obtained
· Meet with customer frequently and present self and the company professional and in a positive manner at all times
· Meet with Managers to ensure that events and work orders are properly executed and closed out in a timely manner
· Hold meetings as required with custodians to brief on key operational topics
· Assists Director of Customer Experience in execution of scope of work for the facility
· Interim Director when Director is absent
· Assist with managing labor budgets
· Review schedules, create and manage new and reoccurring trainings
· Assists with ensuring overall client satisfaction and reporting to DFS Management of client concerns and other important notes
· Ensures proper labor relations and conditions of employment are maintained
· Corresponds with DFS Management for support, updates and duties
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Qualifications:
· Thorough knowledge of the standard methods, equipment, and supplies in a large or small scale Janitorial activities of the service.
· Thorough knowledge of methods used in cleaning of a large or small facility
· Knowledge of floor care (hard floor and carpeting)
· Ability to work with a diverse workforce
· Ability to communicate effectively
· Ability to maintain confidentiality
· Ability to operate and use tools/equipment for training purposes
· Ability to develop work schedules, making the efficient use of personnel
· Ability to train and manage a large or small group of employees
· Considerable knowledge of employee policies and procedures
· Ability to follow instructions and respond using oral and written communication
· Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
· Ability to work effectively independently or with a team
· Basic knowledge of general housekeeping methods and practices, cleaning products and use
Physical Demands and Performance Expectations:The Senior Operations Manager position is a physically demanding position. The work requires routine walking, standing, bending, as well as lifting heavy objects at times. The Senior Operations Manager must perform the duties outlined which comply with the airport/company policies and regulations to create a cooperative, safe, respectful and quality work environment.
