Distilled Spirits Council of the United States is Hiring an Associate Counsel Near Washington, DC
The Distilled Spirits Council is currently seeking an attorney to join their legal department. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, a team player, and preferably have some experience in beverage alcohol, trade association, regulatory, or general corporate law.
Position Title:
Associate Counsel, Legal and Regulatory
Reports To:
Chief Legal Officer
Job Overview:
Licensed attorney to address corporate/trade association legal issues, as well as legal and regulatory policy issues impacting the beverage alcohol industry. Key responsibilities include:
- Research and advise on laws and regulations impacting the beverage alcohol industry
- Advise on company policies and manage corporate legal compliance program
- Review and advise on contracts
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support policy and program initiatives
- Research and anticipate legal risks
Qualifications & Standards:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from accredited institution
- Admitted to and in good standing with a US bar
- Minimum 4 years-experience practicing law

- Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong time management, organization, and communication skills
