Expectations

As an Assistant Controller/Controller for our clients, you will provide strong financial leadership and strategic insights. Your expertise will drive the entire accounting function - ensuring the generation of accurate and timely financial statements, compliance with regulations, robust internal controls, financial planning/analysis support, and effective financial decision-making at a senior level. In this role, you will be engaged in client initiatives leveraging your leadership, relationship building, planning and problem solving, experiences with operational best practices, and successful collaboration with cross-functional teams. You will also be expected to lead and support the applicable accounting team members. Additionally, this role will focus on building client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, delivering excellence, and maintaining a client focus.

Additional responsibilities and qualifications are listed below:

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and direct all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, and analysis.

  • Ensure the integrity of accounting records and financial statements for completeness, accuracy and compliance with generally accepted accounting policies and principles.

  • Develop and implement financial strategies, budgets, and forecasts.

  • Prepare cash flow analysis including but not limited to tracking cash flow activity, preparing reports, and analyzing information for management.

  • Develop reporting and variance analysis regarding operating budget versus actual expenses.

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and corporate policies.

  • Establish and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and optimize financial processes.

  • Present and provide financial analysis and insights to executive leadership supporting strategic planning and decision-making.

  • Collaborate with senior management to assess financial performance and identify areas for improvement.

  • Coordinate and support external audits and communicate (serving as the primary point of contact) with auditors.

  • Provide guidance and oversight for the performance of any reporting team members.

  • Research proper accounting treatment of transactions and ensure the compliant implementation of changes in accounting regulation.

  • Identify and drive opportunities for process standardization and/or improvements.

  • Develop and document standard operating procedures and/or policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • Extensive experience in accounting or finance, with at least 8 years in progressively responsible roles.

  • Thorough understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.

  • Proven experience in developing and implementing financial strategies.

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.

  • Excellent oral, written, and analytic skills

  • Proficiency in performing the responsibilities effectively in either remote (i.e., via Teams or Zoom) or in-person working environments.

  • Proficiency in financial ERP software and MS Office suite.

  • Willingness to travel when needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Has worked in a variety of industries and/or large consulting organizations.

  • Experience working with Private Equity teams is a strong plus.

  • CPA strongly preferred.

  • Public accounting experience.

  • Experience in a leadership role within the industry.

Salary Range

W-2: Salary: $132,800 - $246,700

1099 Independent Contractor: $90 - $180 per hour
