988 Crisis Counselor Bilingual Korean (Olympic Suicide Prevention Center)

This role is fully remote. Schedule will vary with multiple shifts available. Part time & full time applicants encouraged to apply. The pay for this position is $26.00 per hour with a $3.00 overnight differential.

Summary

Responsible for providing telephone assistance to individuals in crisis.

Primary Duties

  • Offering crisis counseling services via telephone and chat.
  • Working alongside the shift supervisors to answer, manage and conduct lethality assessments of crisis calls.
  • Serving as a mandated reporter in cases of suspected abuse.
  • Maintaining accurate and detailed call reports.
  • Fulfilling continuing education requirements as requested or required for the agency and the Suicide Prevention Center program.
  • Assisting in the training process of new counselors and volunteers.
  • Participating in community outreach events such as resources tables and presentation about suicide prevention.
  • Attending routinely scheduled meetings as requested or required for the Suicide Prevention center.
  • Crisis Line Counselors provide telephone assistance to Korean speaking individuals in crisis. $3.00 hourly additionally will be paid for shifts worked overnight. Candidates must be bilingual (English/Korean) and are required to complete the SPC Crisis Hotline Training.

Position Requirements

  • Must be fluent in English and Spanish, Vietnamese or Korean language based on the needs of the program.
  • Successful completion of the SPC training program as volunteer.
  • Must have completed the ASIST training.
  • Knowledge of all job specific skills including lethality assessment, data collection and call triage.
  • Present ideas, information, and viewpoints clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • Efficiently use the personal computer to include: word processing and all crisis line related software.
  • Have strong interpersonal skills, interact well with others, and avoid personal conflicts.
  • Support the values and mission of Didi Hirsch as related to employment.
  • Know and comply with Agency policies, procedures, HIPAA, and other state, federal regulations relating to emergency mental health services.
  • Demonstrate commitment to team objectives and Didi Hirsch philosophies.
  • Adapt to changing needs by acquiring new skills and knowledge.
  • Must be 21 years old or older.
