Vice President of Medical Operations
The Vice President of Medical Operations is responsible for the overall medical operations of the company. This includes overseeing the clinical staff, developing and implementing medical policies and procedures, and ensuring the quality of patient care. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in veterinary medicine, as well as experience in managing a team of professionals.
This position requires being in hospital 5 days a week and may require up to 80% travel with some weekend responsibilities to support our after-hours urgent care model.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the clinical staff, including hiring, firing, and training veterinarians and veterinary technicians.
- Develop and implement medical policies and procedures.
- Ensure the quality of patient care.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of the medical department.
- Represent the company to the public and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in the development of the company's strategic plan.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited institution.
- At least 10 years of experience in a clinical veterinary setting.
- Experience in managing a team of professionals.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to excellence in patient care.
