Job Summary:

Leads the ongoing business and technical requirements of the Human Resources department by evaluating and recommending human resources information system solutions and functionality, developing alternatives, performing testing, and overseeing the implementation of new system functions.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  1. Oversees the business data and reporting needs of the Human Resources department, analyzes system issues, identifies root causes, and recommends corrective action.
  2. Leads the configuration, implementation, testing, and ongoing support of human resources information systems and transforms requirements into alternatives, technical design, and specifications. Leads the implementation of new products and system conversions.
  3. Develops test plans, test cases, test scripts, and leads the execution of system tests using standard testing procedures and guidelines, as well as evaluates and documents test coverage, results, and effectiveness.
  4. Partners with other departments to identify and recommend process improvements and leads the implementation process for the Human Resources department.
  5. Evaluates, tests, and trains others on changes to systems that impact human resources information systems, including health and welfare benefits, performance management, compensation, payroll, etc.
  6. Writes both standard and advanced reports within the human resources information system that includes creating calculated fields and maintain system dashboards.
  7. Builds new system integrations and maintains existing integrations from the human resources information system to internal and external vendors.
  8. Oversees the creation of system job aids and training materials.
  9. Serves as the human resources information systems subject matter expert and as a liaison between departments, information systems and services, and external vendors regarding technology issues and operational concerns to drive the Human Resources department’s strategic and operational goals and objectives.
  10. Leads projects related to system enhancements, data quality, compliance, risk, business continuity, and technology which supports the HR department’s strategic and operational goals and objectives.
  11. Identifies and implements changes to existing procedures and practices based on analysis of data. Documents processes, identifies risks, and conducts audit reporting to ensure integrity of the data.

Perform other related assigned duties as necessary to complete the Primary Job Responsibilities as described above.

Requirements:

Position requires a bachelor’s degree in human resources, computer science, or a related field and eight years of experience in human resources working with human resources information systems and three years of focused Workday HCM configuration experience within multiple disciplines (HCM, Time, Benefits, Performance Management Absence, and Compensation) required. Will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience.

Position requires strong technological, analytical, and communication skills; advanced knowledge of human resources information systems and a general knowledge of all other human resources functional areas; experience in data flow analysis and leading projects; knowledge of technical environments including languages and databases; self-starter, with the ability to identify, analyze, recommend, implement/execute, and support functional areas; the ability to work independently with high initiative; the ability to think and plan strategically; the ability to handle multiple assignments with competing deadlines; and the ability to resolve complex problems using independent judgment.
